Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had a close call with an accident due to a brief malfunction in the lift at the Novotel Hotel in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The lift, which had unexpectedly halted while he was using it, was designed to accommodate 8 people but had been occupied by 13, leading to an overload.

Initially, there was tension among the Chief Minister and his staff, as they were uncertain about the situation. However, after a short period, they managed to regain their composure and exited the lift.

Hotel personnel and the Chief Minister’s security team were promptly notified. The lift was eventually opened, and Revanth Reddy was escorted to the second floor via another lift. Officials and police personnel expressed their relief that the Chief Minister emerged unscathed.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy arrived at the Novatel Hotel for the CLP meeting. Government Whips and MLAs welcomed him and escorted him inside the venue. While heading to the upper floors, several leaders entered a lift that was designed to hold a maximum of 8 individuals.

Inside the lift, there were 13 people present, including Revanth Reddy, which led to it immediately sinking due to the excess weight. Upon the activation of the alarm, officials and hotel staff quickly responded and assisted in getting everyone, including the Chief Minister, safely out of the lift.
